4th of July Fireworks
Every 4th of July in Yankton, tens of thousands of people from the region come to Riverside Park as the sun goes down to watch an amazing spectacular presentation of fireworks. The park is filled with families and friends; some stretched out on blankets on the ground others in lawn chairs.
Musical performances are held prior to the fireworks at the amphitheater, and local organizations offer snacks and beverages. The Fireworks correspond with musical selections from a local radio station, played over loudspeakers throughout the park .For the past few years, the fireworks display has been dedicated to the honor of current area soldiers fighting the war in Iraq.
