Take a short 20 minute drive east to neighboring city Vermillion, SD to the W.H. Over Museum, where you’ll find South Dakota’s largest collection of natural and cultural history, including a Lewis & Clark display.
Named for one of the early directors, William H. Over, the museum continues his work of collecting, researching, and interpreting South Dakota’s past. The museum offers tours, educational programs, and a gift shop with a variety of handcrafted gifts, crafts, and more. It is open Monday – Saturday 9 – 5; and Sundays from 1 – 4:30PM.
